Daylight is the only light that shows your skin as it really is. Warm bulbs add gold to everyone and cool office tubes drain it away. Overcast daylight is ideal; direct midday sun is a little harsh.
Take your make-up off
Foundation is picked to even out a face, which is precisely the information the quiz wants to read. Bare skin, wiped clean, gives a truer answer — and so does pushing your hair back off your forehead.

If you dye your hair, picture the shade you grew. Dye sits on top of your colouring rather than changing it, and the quiz is trying to read what sits underneath.
What the questions actually ask
Three of them test warmth: the veins inside your wrist, whether gold or silver sits better on your hand, and whether bright white or cream is kinder held under your chin. These are the questions that decide between the warm seasons and the cool ones, so they carry the most weight.
Two ask how deep your colouring is — your natural hair shade and what the sun does to you. The last two ask about your eyes and about the gap in lightness between your hair and your face. Those decide whether your palette should be crisp and clear or gentle and dusty.
Read the result as a starting point for shopping, not a verdict about you. It is a suggestion from seven answers, not a professional consultation or any kind of health assessment.

After the quiz
Your result names a season and shows the shades that go with it. Take one of the neutrals with you next time you shop and hold it beside something you already own — that is a faster test than reading about the theory.

About the quiz
How long does the 7-question quiz take?
Most people finish in about ninety seconds. One question fills the screen at a time, so there is nothing to scroll past and nothing to read twice.
What if none of the answers fits me exactly?
Most questions offer a middle answer for when you genuinely cannot tell, and choosing it is not a wasted answer — it tells the quiz that this signal is weak for you, so the other questions carry more of the weight. The questions about hair and eyes ask you to commit to the closest of four descriptions; pick the one you would use to describe yourself to a stranger.
Do I need a mirror or anything else to hand?
A mirror helps for the question about hair and skin, and a bright white top next to a cream one helps for another. Nothing else is needed. If you cannot set those up, answer from memory and take the undecided option wherever one is offered.
My hair has gone grey. Which colour should I say?
There is an answer for exactly that. Say grey or white if you have stopped colouring it and want a palette that suits you now. Say the shade you used to have if you still colour it back to that shade.
Can I change an answer before I see the result?
Yes. A Go back button returns you to the previous question with your choice still selected, and nothing is worked out until the final question is answered.
Are my answers saved on a server?
No. The questions are scored inside the page you are looking at. Your result is held only for the current browsing session on your own device, so closing the tab clears it.
